HK Disneyland (after the opening)

The HK Disneyland gain more negative comments than positive comments ever since its grand openning in 12-Sep-2005. For instance :-

1. no outside foods and drinks are allowed in the park. But the foods and drinks sold in the park are 2X-3X more expensive and sucks.

2. overcrowded. People have to wait over 1 hour in queue for everything. That includes paying the things they bought in the souvenir store.

3. machinerary/operation failure. How would you feel when you are told the ride you have been queueing for more than 1 hour have to be shut down due to uncertain failure?

To me, I think the above phenomenons are normal. It's unrealistic to expect everything to be perfectly in place at the beginning stage. However, that doesn't mean I can tolerate all this. So I think I better wait until things get improved before we go. After all, the entrance fee is not cheap.

If it wasn't because of KS's parents visited us on Nov-2005, we won't be going to Disneyland that fast.

It was a sunny day. We reached the entrance gate there at around 10am.

Don't know since when Vincent has replaced William and sat in the stroller...

KS has to line up for about 35 min to buy tickets for all of us. And it's true our backpack was checked to ensure no outside foods or drinks are allowed.

Finally, we were in the park.

OMG, it's Donald and Daisy. If I wasn't carrying William, I would chase after them...

Vincent and I were waiting for our turn to take a photo with...

Yes, Goofy and Pluto...

Main Street USA brings to life the typical American town of the early 1900s and serves as a fitting backdrop to a variety of charming shops and restaurants, as well as lively marching bands and parades.

Buzz Lightyear. One of Vincent's favorite characters...

A Disney's fastpass attraction, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.

Water put in kid's drinking bottle was allowed somehow. I think milk powder should be allowed too.

Orbitron. Soar as high as you dare above Tomorrowland through a whirling constellation of planets.

The Fantasyland was very crowded. We have no mood to queue in line to soar on a flying elephant, or spin in a storybook teacup under the hot sun.

Sleeping Beauty castle. Its size is much smaller than the one we saw in LA Disneyland. Regardless of the size, Fantasyland is dedicated to the young at heart and to those who believe that when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.

While William was sleeping...the 3 of us walked around Fantasyland at a faster pace.

The horse who serve Mulan, the fearless warrior.

The queue was soooo long. We gave up. Anyway, I snapped this photo from far.

The weather was so hot, we bought Vincent a bottle of Coca-cola. It's kinda special offer for him.

And since then, he was so concentrating in sipping his coca-cola...

he sipped his coca-cola everywhere we dragged him to...

and no one can take away his coca-cola...

I really believe coca-cola will survive generation after generation...

Alright, William has waken up...his eyes are wide open, all ready for the 2nd round blaster.

The boys were sitting on the Disneyland's recycled bin. Not everyday they can sit on the recycled bin in the Disneyland, hehe... Actually, I put them up there to stop them from running wild here and there.

Me and William

Poor KS, he has to queue for 30 min so that we could take a photo with Minnie

if Disneyland set up more giant pictures around the park, maybe the crowds will not want to queue up so long to take photo with the famous characters. See...the outcome effect is not too fake.

The Disney Store located at the Mian Street USA. Heard the sales amount there was very very astonishing when it was just openned. Some visitors are willing to spend HKD2K-3K to shop for the cute souvenirs they like.

HK Disneyland consist of 4 major theme parks : the Main Street USA, Fantasyland, Aventureland and Tomorrowland. Its compound is quite small that we can tour the park for 2X. The new phase is under construction. I'm sure we will go there again after the expansion is completed later. Just wonder how much the ticket fee would be?
