Shing Mun Country Park

8-April-2007
Shing Mun Country Park in Northwestern Kowloon commands a site of 1,400 hectares. It is famous for its profuse lush woodlands, scenic hills and a reservoir.

They were all ready to run soon after the 1st shot, but mommy held them back for a few more shots. So, they didn't pose it intentional though it looks like they did.

The Shing Mun Country Park Visitor Centre, providing visitors with information and guidance.

The starting point.

This is the barbeque site. But it's rather far away from the nearest car park area. If one really want to burn the foods here, they got to carry the foods for quite some distance.

Shing Mun Reservoir is the largest water storage facility at the foot of Tai Mo Shan, and the most unforgettable sight of Shing Mun Country Park. Measuring 2 km in length, the reservoir is orbited by a winding lakeside path that stretches for many kilometres in the verdant valley.

Groups of monkey can be seem along the forest track. They are not shy at all. Just when we pull out our snack from the backpack, they would come near to us. Due to safety reason, we have to hide the foods until we have pass their territory.

Finally, we found a place where no monkeys were seen to follow us. Then, we took out the snacks from our package and munch it quickly.

William was asking me why he couldn't see any butterfly in this butterfly garden. I wonder why too?

After a short berak, we continue our walk.

Most of the time, they would keep each other a good company. And this make a simply walk a more enjoyable one. I believe most parents who have at least 2 children would agree about this good point.

They saw another monkey on the tree top up there. And this is their way to say "HELLO". Pretty irritating huh...
so, this monkey ignored them...

This leisure hiking trail has taken us 1.5 hr to complete. We didn't go home dragging an exhausted body but enchanting spirit.

The 4 of us like hiking. But as summer time is simply too hot for it, we have to wait till the weather to cool down a bit then.

Flower Show 2007

17-March-2007

Apparently, this is not the 1st time HK organizes flower show in the most famous Victoria Park. But it's our 1st time to visit flower show after staying here for more than 10 years. Maybe as we grow older, we begin to notice and appreciate the things that we tend to ignore last time.

Unfortunately, the weather was not good that Saturday afternoon. In fact, it's been raining the whole day. Fortunately, we didn't bring the kids along. Thought they are too young to appreciate that. Thank God we ditched them. Otherwise, it's impossible to admire flowers under the rain.

I'll keep quiet and let the readers to admire the flowers in peace...

There come my favorite flowers, TULIP.
I enjoyed seeing thousands of elegant tulip with different colors here...

I wish to fly to the Tulip's origin place -Holland, to see them one day.

If I have my own back yard at home, this is the kind of garden I would love to build...

and this mailbox is exactly the thing I want to put in there too...

how lovely....
